extension runs entirely locally on your device.
1. Data Collection
AI Chat Exporter does not collect, store, or transmit any personal
identification information (PII) or usage data to external servers.
The extension functions by reading the content of the currently active web page (your chat
session) securely within your browser for the sole purpose of formatting it into a file
(Markdown/JSON) and saving it to your local Downloads folder.
2. Permissions
The extension requires the following permissions to function:

activeTab & Scripting: Allows the extension to interact with the
active page and inject the exporter logic. Scripting is also used on installation or
updates to inject the exporter script into already-open AI chat tabs so they function
without requiring a page refresh.

Storage: Used strictly to save your local preferences (e.g., preferred
export format, image toggles) within your browser profile. This data is kept 100% offline
and is not synced to any servers.

Host Access (Match Patterns): Grants permission to run on specific AI
chat platforms (including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Qwen, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Meta AI,
and Mistral) to read the conversation DOM and format the export.
3. Third-Party Services
This extension does not use any third-party analytics or tracking services (like Google
Analytics).
